January 2nd, 2013 - Howard Moore Finishes 18th in Tulsa Shootout
The 28th Annual Tulsa Shootout was held at the Tulsa Expo Center (Tulsa, Oklahoma) over the weekend and had an amazing record number 990 total entries.  There were 241 races over the three day event with 22 states and Canada represented. Howard Moore took part in the event in his brand-new, 2013 Stallard Chassis.

In Howard's first round of heat races, Howard had the pole position and won. With 208 entries in action in the A-Class for the Mini Sprints drivers had to be in the top 72 to move on.

In his next heat race he started in the sixth position and finished fourth.  This gave him the pole of the eighth b-main, which he went on to win .

This gave him the eighth starting position for the last chance qualifier. With the top eight finishers moving onto the finale Howard crossed the finish line in a photo finish with Frank Flud for the eighth and final transfer spot.  Moore narrowly claimed the advantage at the line to earn the 24th starting spot for the main event.

He advanced to the 15th position quickly in the early stages of the feature, but the track started taking rubber and Howard was battling a tight condition. In an effort to not crash his car or someone else he decided to retire from the finale. He was credited with an 18th place finish.

For the Moore family it was a huge honor to just make the feature and they were on cloud nine to have just made the show.  As much as they would have loved a "golden driller" on their mantle, they were elated with 18th out of 208 cars. Overall it was a fantastic time and everyone enjoyed the races and company that they dont get to visit with but a few times a year.

Howard was also very pleased with the performance of his brand new, Stallard Chassis. He is excited for the potential that the 2013 season will present in the great new car.
