October 26th, 2013 - Howard Moore Competes in Short Track Nationals Action
1Howard Moore returned to the driver's seat of his #23 Dynamic Electric/Stinson Industrial/Maxim/Wesmar Sprint Car over the weekend in the 26th Annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals, which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series.

The mega-event opened on Wednesday evening with the inaugural Short Track open at the 1/4 mile oval as a stout field of 95 entries registered for action in the $2,500-to-win event.

A big number at the pill draw resulted in Howard starting 6th on the grid for his heat race, and he would race to a 5th place finish in the heat, which sent him to a b-main, where he started 10th. With only the top two cars transferring to the feature Howard failed to reach a transfer spot as his night ended early.

On Thursday evening Howard's qualifying night was contested for the 26th Annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals, and with 49 entries also competing he would the night to be an uphill struggle after drawing a large number at the pill draw. In heat race and qualifier action he failed to earn a starting spot in the finale. His night came to an early end a little later, when a 7th place finish in his b-main left him five spots short of transferring to the 25 lap, preliminary feature.

Via his struggles on his preliminary night Howard started deep in a consolation event on Saturday night and fell short of making the cut for the feature. While the weekend may have ended early, he and the team had a great time in their first Short Track Nationals endeavor!
