July 26th, 2014 - Howard Moore Competes in Hooker Hood Classic
1After seeing Mother Nature intervene countless times the annual Hooker Hood Classic was finally able to be contested at Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) on Saturday night.

Howard Moore went into battle in his Bad Boy Mowers #40 Shortman Motorsports Maxim Sprint Car against a field of twenty-four entries. He started sixth in his heat race before advancing to a fourth place finish, which resulted in Moore locking into the eighth starting spot for the finale.

During the first half of the race Howard ran around tenth before making it to as high as the sixth position. A red flag would ultimately doom him on the night as he struggled to get rolling again and would spun with an ill-handling car. He rejoined the tail of the field before rebounding to an eleventh place finish.

"We had a great time with family, friends and fans and would like to thank everyone for coming out," said Moore. "Mr. Shorty made it out to the track and tried his hardest to make it the whole night. He watched the heat race and had to go home because he was becoming ill. If everyone would please keep him in your prayers, I would appreciate it. He is truly a hero to me, and I can't thank him enough for all he has done for me."

July 5th, 2014 - Howard Moore Opens Holiday Weekend with Top Ten
Howard Moore took the #40 Shortman Motorsports/Stinson Industrial/Maxim Sprint Car to Crowley's Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Arkansas) to compete with the United Sprint Car Series (USCS) in a Thursday night special to open the Fourth of July weekend.

Going into battle against a talented field of 32 entries Howard finished fifth in his heat race after starting fifth. His performance left him short of locking into the feature, and as a result he was forced to run a b-main, where he finished second. Via his finish in the consolation race Moore started sixteenth on the grid for the finale. He went on to pass ten cars to finish sixth, which also garnered him the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Awards.

After enjoying a Friday away from the track Howard returned to action on Saturday night at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) with another USCS Sprint Car event. A talented field of 36 entries took part in the event, and Howard fell short of locking into the feature via heat race action, but a win in the b-main sent him to the feature in the fifteenth starting spot. In the main event passing proved to be difficult, but he would still manage a thirteenth place finish.
