October 25th, 2014 - Howard Moore Enters 27th Annual Short Track Nationals
1Howard Moore embarked on the 27th Annual Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) on Wednesday evening by entering the 2nd Annual Short Track Open at the 1/4 mile oval.

A stout field of 66 entries took part in the $2,000-to-win event, and Howard started his night with a second place finish in his heat race, which left him just short of locking into the feature. As a result he was forced to run a b-main, and he would run in a transfer spot for much of the b-main before slipping to the fifth position late in the event, which brought his outing to an early end.

On Friday night Howard was eager to take to the 1/4 mile oval for his qualifying night for the $15,000 finale. His outing would get off to a rough and tumble start though in heat race action. Moore jumped the cushion in turn two on the second lap of his heat race, which sent him tumbling. He would thankfully be uninjured, and the team made repairs to his entry. He bounced back to return to action later in the night before his outing came to an end in a B-main with a seventh place finish.

The weekend drew to a close on Saturday night with the final leg of the event. Howard started his night by winning his qualifier. Combined with his points from his preliminary night he was left starting on the front row of a C-main. A second place finish in the C-main sent him to the tail of a B-main. He would advance to a seventh place finish in the consolation event, but with only the top two finishers moving on to the feature his weekend came to an early end.
