October 30th, 2015 - Howard Moore Competes in Short Track Nationals
1Howard Moore made the trek over the weekend to I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) to compete in the 28th Annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals.

Rain washed away the 3rd Annual Short Track Open on Wednesday night. With a less-than-favorable forecast for Saturday, track officials elected to alter the weekend's program to include a pair of $3,000-to-win events on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday's program found sixty-seven entries in action at the 1/4 mile oval. A rough and tumble racetrack awaited the competitor, and Howard finished 3rd in his heat race. The qualifier found him finishing 2nd and starting on the pole. Via passing points Moore started on the pole for the B-main and won it to transfer into the feature. In the 25-lap finale he started 19th on the grid and was up to the 15th position, when another competitor jumped his left-rear tire, which cut it down ending his night. He was credited with a 21st place finish.

Rain reared its ugly head again on Friday evening forcing the remainder of the event to be canceled.

October 17th, 2015 - Tough Weekend for Howard Moore at Devil's Bowl
1Howard Moore traveled to Devil's Bowl Speedway over the weekend to compete for the first-time ever at the historic, 1/2 mile oval. The weekend's 42nd Annual Winter Nationals was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series (ASCS).

On Friday evening with forty-six entries registered for battle Howard started 7th in his heat race and on a hammer-down track was only able to advance to a 7th place finish. As a result he was relegated to a b-main, where he was only able to mention an 8th place finish, which brought his outing to an early end.

Saturday night found Howard competing in the second round of the weekend as he hoped for better luck. Unfortunately Howard battled the handle throughout the night before again finishing 8th in the b-main.

Even though the team didn't have the results that they hoped for the weekend, it was a great learning experience for Howard. It was by far the fastest track that he had ever run, and the configuration definitely took some getting used to. Moore looks forward to trying to tackle the oval again in the near future.
