June 16, 2016 - Howard Moore Competes in First-Career ASCS Speedweek
1Howard Moore embarked on his first-ever Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Speedweek on Friday night with the opening round at Route 66 Speedway (Amarillo, Texas).

With the legendary Gary Wright turning wrenches on Howard's #40 Maxim Sprinter, the team went into battle against a field of 24-entries in the opener for the 24th edition of the ASCS Speedweek. A 5th-place finish in his heat race, positioned Moore starting 15th in the finale. He raced around mid-pack throughout the event before registering a 12th-place finish.

After a rainout on Tuesday evening at Devil's Bowl Speedway (Mesquite, Texas), action resumed on Wednesday night at Lawton Speedway (Lawton, Oklahoma), where 37-entries registered for action. It would prove to be a trying night for Moore as mechanical issues sidelined him in his heat race. As a result, he started 11th on the B-main grid and would only manage an 8th-place finish as his night came to an early end.
