June 10, 2017 - Howard Moore Masters the Ditch in ASCS Mid-South Competition
1Howard Moore continued his hot streak in his Lawn Jox #40 Maxim/ SPEC Racing Engine Sprint Car on Saturday night by racing to his second-straight feature win!

His latest conquest came at Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) with the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Mid-South Region.

Nineteen entries tackled the historic 1/4-mile oval on Saturday evening in pursuit of a $2,000 top prize. A 3rd-to-2nd run in his heat race earned Howard a spot in the redraw, where he was the recipient of the 2nd-starting spot.

Starting alongside Andy McElhannon for the 25-lap affair, Howard initially slipped back to the 3rd position. After a few circuits he overtook Marshall Skinner for the second spot as he set his sights on the leader, McElhannon. Moore made the pass for the top spot on a couple of occasions, but his efforts would be for not, due to caution flags.

Despite cautions hampering his efforts, Howard would finally take over the top spot just past the halfway mark, exiting turn 2. He would go on to keep several veterans behind him over the remainder of the event as he went on to claim his first win of the season with the tour. The victory was his second of the season.

"This almost seems like a dream to win back-to-back races," Moore commented. "My dad, Ricky, and Jake had the car dialed in perfectly, and it made my job much easier. To be able to outrun so many talented racers really means a lot. Last but not least I want to thank all of my sponsors and fans for their awesome support.

McElhannon, Tim Crawley, Gary Taylor, and Marshall Skinner completed the Top 5. Full results from the event are available at

June 3, 2017 - A Night of Firsts for Howard Moore at SFCS
1Howard Moore enjoyed a great night of racing on Saturday evening at St. Francois County Raceway (Farmington, Missouri).

Not only did the pilot of the Lawn Jox #40 Maxim Chassis Sprint Car get his first win of 2017, but he also scored his first-career 410 c.i. Sprint Car feature win. He simultaneously accomplished both feats in thrilling fashion.

Despite a late-afternoon rain shower the program moved forward at the clay oval as a solid field of 26 entries set their sights on topping the night's feature event.

After winning his heat race from the 3rd-starting position, Howard advanced from 5th to 3rd in the dash, which locked him into the 3rd-starting spot for the feature.

During the race's first half Howard battled for the 2nd position before ultimately taking control of the spot as he began to focus on erasing the straightaway lead held by Joey Montgomery.

As the duo worked through lapped traffic, Howard began catching Montgomery. Exiting the final corner on the final lap Moore made a daring move to claim the win by a matter of inches.

"It was an incredibly close finish, and I feel for Joey [Montgomery] because I know how bad it stings to come that close to winning," Howard said. "So many people helped make this win possible, and I can't thank them all enough for their support. Having my family in Victory Lane meant so much, and hopefully this is the first of many wins to come."
