September 29, 2018 - Howard Moore Returns to Action at Riverside
1After a one-week break, Howard Moore returned to the driver's seat on Saturday night with a trip to Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas).

Seventeen Sprint Cars entered the event at the historic, 1/4-mile oval, and Howard hit the ground running to start the night by winning his heat race from the pole position.

His heat-race outing locked Howard into the outside-front-row starting spot for the 27-lap finale, which paid honor to the late Greg Hodnett. He raced in the Top 5 throughout the finale before crossing the finish line in third behind Howard Moore and Dale Howard.

The annual Ralph Henson Memorial was on tap with a $2,046 top prize on the line as the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Mid-South Region and ASCS Red River Region sanctioned the event.

With 38 entries on hand, Howard drew the biggest pill possible at the pill draw. As a result he was scheduled to start eighth in his heat race. After seeing a driver scratch from the heat, Howard started sixth before advancing to a third-place finish.

His heat-race performance locked Moore into the redraw for the dash, where he pulled the fourth-starting spot. He then raced to a second-place finish in the dash to earn the outside-front-row starting spot for the feature.

In the main event Howard was running in the third position on lap 20, when he spun. He rejoined the tail of the field before registering a 13th-place finish.
